Low pressure (altitude) tests determine if equipment can withstand and / or can operate in a low pressure environment and / or withstand changes in rapid pressure.

The method is used for equipment that may be:

A. Stored and / or operated at high ground sites.

B. Delivered or activated in pressurized or non-pressurized aircraft areas

C. Exposed to rapid or explosive pressure release (to determine if the failure will damage the aircraft or present a danger to a person)

D. External pressures on aircraft.
